The Need
With the expansion of its R&D presence in Waterloo Ontario, Google was looking to gain greater awareness and recognition for its R&D commitment in Canada and to help drive ongoing interest in the employment opportunities associated with the expansion.
Strategy
C2E worked with the Google PR team to help develop an initial executive announcement strategy and media outreach followed up with ongoing feature news pitches to regional and national media to highlight the scope of opportunity being created at Google Waterloo, along with the key benefits of the company's unique corporate culture and highly sought after work environment. C2E also provided spokesperson training to key local team members to help them clearly communicate through media their perspective on the benefits of working at Google Waterloo.
Results
In co-operation with the Google PR team, C2E recruited, developed and facilitated numerous interview opportunities for Google executives and for Google Waterloo's R&D team. The extensive coverage has included many articles focused on Google Waterloo in the Globe and Mail, National Post, Ottawa Citizen, Kitchener Waterloo Record, CTV local news and CBC National TV news.
